Born and
raised in Birmingham, England, I have lived in Canada for 35 years. For 25 of those years, my partner Stephanie Rendle and
I have raised a total of 49 Rhodesian Ridgebacks! Our dogs have
produced 9 litters, yielding 26 Champions. In 1992 and
1999 we were exclusively awarded the Top
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Breeder in
Canada
by Pedigree and The Canadian Kennel Club.
Our Dogs
Have Earned:
25 Conformation
Champions titles (Canadian & American).
Multiple Group
placements, including 2 "Best Puppy in Show".
9 Companion Dog
titles (including Canadian & American).
19 Canine Good
Citizen titles.
4 Register of Merit
recognized breeding dogs.
A number of our dogs have starred in movies
and TV
commercials. I've been involved as well, behind the scenes, as the handler
and
trainer of our four legged "celebrities", and on
camera, in supporting roles to the canine stars.
Puppy rearing is one of our specialties.
We developed an "Owner Education Program" in which prospective
puppy owners are taught about the development and learning
capabilities of their pup before becoming its' adoptive parents. Special
emphasis is placed on communication techniques. We have
also developed a "Post Adoption Support Program" which
is made available to all adopting families.
I am a
Veterinarian recommended Canine Behavior Consultant, having
completed certified courses at the University of Guelph's Ontario
Veterinary College. My Canine Psychology Program covered
behavior/behavior modification courses such as, "The
Principals of Learning and Their Practical Application in Dog
Training and Behavior Modification", "Behavior
Problems of Dogs", and "Don't Shoot the Dog:
The New
Art of Teaching and Training.
A graduate of
The Canadian Institute Of Management, my professional background
is in Engineering, Business Administration, Production and Sales.
Over the years I have travelled extensively throughout Western
Europe, North, Central and South America and have developed a
love of the Latin American countries. In 1996, I
delivered a presentation
to the "Asociacion
de Medicos Veterinarios Especializados en Pequenas Especies",
Quito, in Ecuador. Their warm reception
inspired me to
expand my speaking schedule. Today, I enjoy
sharing my knowledge with groups across the Americas. In fact, I am willing to go virtually
anywhere and speak to any audience if my experience and
knowledge can contribute to the betterment of even one dog's
life.
